We are looking for a Summer Intern to join our Web Team in our Westport, CT office.
Key Responsibilities:
Help produce, review and test web page content in a content management system
(CMS)
•Edit photos, create graphics and slide shows
•Update database records
•Produce pre-designed reports
Requirements:
Experience in one or more creative marketing disciplines: design, digital media,
publication production
•Excellent communications skills and experience proofreading documents
•Familiarity with basic HTML and experience working in a web CMS
Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple tasks
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
•Experience with Dreamweaver, Photoshop, Flash, and/or JavaScript is a plus
•Personal passion for Save the Children’s mission

Summer Intern Cash Receipts3/29/11

We are looking for an Intern, Cash Receipts who would work as part of a team to process all donor contributions that are received by the Save the Children’s Westport office. Payments can be via checks which are scanned to the bank in-house, also wires and credit cards. All funds received are entered onto donor accounts on the AS400 database. The database is scheduled to be replaced by a new product in Sept 2010. The intern will be involved in testing this new product as well as carrying out the teams daily tasks.
The Duties below relate to the team’s tasks. Due to the short time of the internship the intern will specialize in one or two areas rather than learn to carry them all out.
•Opening and Sorting Mail
Identifying donors on the AS400 donor database, creating new records if needed.
Determining correct application of the funds eg contribution or sponsorship.
•Total batches and establish batch header number for check and/or non-internet
credit card donations.
•Scanning checks for deposit to bank.
•Entering transactions on the AS400. Verifying transactions already entered.
Updates to the Automatic Credit Card Deduction and Electronic Funds Transfer
donor maintenance files. Other Adjustment batches.
•Other miscellaneous duties, eg reconciling on-line donations, filing retained
documentation and back filling other Cash Receipts staff.
This internship would suit a finance student with an interest in payment processing/banking.
Requirements:
-Solid Excel skills
-Strong attention to detail
-Accuracy when entering transactions
-Team member, flexible outlook

Key Responsibilities:
Provide “best effort” support to visiting staff from other Save the Children offices.
•Diagnose and correct problems with PC hardware and software.
•Install PC hardware and software, including connecting PCs to the LAN.
•Keep individuals informed as to the status of their request for PC assistance.
• Record all requests in the appropriate helpdesk system.
Requirements:
•Minimum of 1 year experience with Windows technology.
•Knowledge of Windows technology and how it applies to network and desktop
environments.
•Good working knowledge of a variety of PC software and hardware from different
manufacturers.
•Ability to learn new software packages and hardware configurations.
•Familiarity with network environments.
Strong oral and written communication skills.
•Great interpersonal skills.
•Ability to self-manage multiple priorities.
