Mercy Learning Center of Bridgeport, Inc. provides basic literacy and life skills training using a holistic approach within a compassionate, supportive environment to low-income, undereducated women without regard for race, religion color, or creed.
The Assistant Director would be responsible for the daily operations of the Center, the ongoing design and implementation of curriculum, assist in employee and volunteer relations, supervise instructional staff, work with community and public relations and report directly to the President.
Qualifications for this position:
- CT teacher certification. Masters degree a plus
- Minimum of three to five years experience in teaching and/or in a business/professional environment
-Experience in an education-related community-base organization or school environment
-Strong organizational skills and detail orientation required
-Collaborative work style
-Experience with other cultures and marginated communities
-Advocate for the poor and illiterate
